On Burlap

This new series of paintings is driven by the surface - burlap. The texture is either primed or left raw, opening exploration using various tools to apply the acrylic paint with rollers, palette knives, sticks, sponges, and brushes. The application of shapes and forms is an intuitive process that builds upon itself. I keep within a limited color palette to complement the earthy tone of the burlap. A few landscapes managed to work their way out as well.
